How St. George benefits the community

St. George will create jobs, economic value, and a range of other benefits for the people of Silistra. This will include direct employment opportunities, increased demand for local goods and services, and the stimulation of economic growth.

Employment Opportunities

During the construction phase, approximately 200-300 full-time equivalent employees will be hired, both for light assembly (which is work suitable for men and women, on both a full-time and part-time basis) and highly-skilled engineering roles.

Sustained Local Jobs

Longer term, the plant will provide local employment for both skilled and semi-skilled labour throughout its 30+ years of operation. Skilled roles will include maintenance technicians, engineers, and project managers. Semi-skilled positions will involve construction workers and operational staff for monitoring equipment, cleaning solar panels, and site security. These jobs will support the local economy and develop a skilled workforce in the community.

Economic Ripple Effect

St. George will also create indirect economic benefits in Silistra Municipality and beyond, including for businesses that will supply goods and services for the project. These benefits will extend to local suppliers, contractors, and service providers, fostering economic growth in the region.

Community Enhancements

The St. George Community Fund is dedicated to making improvements in the local area. By supporting various projects and initiatives, the fund aims to enhance the quality of life for residents. This includes investing in infrastructure, promoting education, and fostering community engagement. The St. George Community Fund strives to create a vibrant and thriving community where everyone has the opportunity to prosper.

Establishing the Community Engagement Committee

Fostering Inclusive Dialogue and Collaboration with Silistra Residents for the St George Solar Project

Community Engagement Committee

To help ensure a collaborative working relationship with local communities and other stakeholders, Rezolv will establish a Community Engagement Committee (CEC) for each of its projects – including St. George. The St. George CEC will be a forum for local communities in Silistra to have their say about every aspect of the project. It will also be an important channel for Rezolv and our partners to provide regular updates on the status of the project and consult proactively on all relevant issues.

Participation in the St. George CEC is voluntary and unpaid. Members will be expected to attend around [x] meetings per year. Any member of the local community in Silistra Municipality who has an interest in the project and would like to join the CEC can nominate themselves via our feedback form.

StakeholderEngagement Plan

Rezolv will ensure that the project adds significant, ongoing value throughout its lifetime. With this in mind, Rezolv has developed a St. George Stakeholder Engagement Plan which is designed to complement the Community Engagement Committee (CEC). The Plan will ensure that the views of all relevant national and local stakeholders are taken into account as the project develops. This process will continue throughout the operational phase too.
